It´s a fake, but who cares?
tonight on the service meeting we discussed why jws are not false prophets.
of the ten minute part two were spent discussing that jws just had wrong expectations and only very minor changes over the years although nothing specific was mentioned.
the other eight focused on the core bible truths that have remained the same over the years.
How can it be "wrong expectations" if "no man´s opinion is expressed in the Watchtower" ??
Here is "scanned photos" from awake 1984 nov-2 about being open minded or not.
"An open mind is free from the fetters of prejudice and...... biased attitudes and opinons"
"Some religious people with a closed mind are only interested in their religion"
"do not believe every inspired expression"
etc etc (Note that every picture has two pages, only one is to be seen if you dont scroll at the right)
a good friend of mine invited me to a party after her meeting on sunday.
i told her i was not going any longer and she doesn't care.
she also let us know that no other witnesses would be there.
Your story is insane
At least you former friend could try to follow a simple role "love your enemies"
transcript for the talk "trust the faithful and discreet slave" talk given at the kingdom ministry schools:.
trust the faithful and discreet slave.
have we ever had to meet up with somebody with whom we've not seen before?
How can any JW have full trust in the GB? If every JW have made their homework well since last year (Wt 2012-08-15 "we shall learn all we can about the historiy of Jehovah´s eartly organization") they SHOULD reflect a little bit more on this question:
Thanks for the replies! The most simple question reveals the arrogance. For example the question; "-Is Armageddon close?" A humble answer would be "Maybe, maybe not". The Arrogance itself claims "Yes, it is". The person behind is a slave to it, no doubt, and almost impossible to reach because of that.....
Okay, we simplify it. A believer doesn´t recognize his/her pride/arrogance (that he is better informed, has more insight, wiser the ones he/she wants to transform to his religion). This behaivor, this feeling, the feeling of arrogance, is like invisible when you believe but is very visible once you have released yourself from that belief. That´s all.
have you ever come across words that resonate with you?
it doesn't have to be a great gem of wisdom, just something that is meaningful to you.. please share, and if you want to, tell us why it's meaningful to you.. here is something that made me nod when i first read it.... .
"fortunate are those who have learned to see, in the wild things of nature, something to be loved, something to be wondered at, something to be reverenced, for they have found the key to a never-failing source of recreation and refreshment".
